CASTROL Syntilo 9913
Soluble Metalworking Fluids
Syntilo 9913 is a pH-neutral, mineral oil, boron and formaldehyde-releasing agent free synthetic coolant, which has been developed for heavy-duty machining of aluminium alloys used in the aerospace industry. However, it is compatible with a wide range of aluminium and high alloyed steel types, including titanium alloys.
Its great lubricity properties fulfil high-performance requirements.
Neutral pH helps to avoid stains on the surface of the aluminium and promotes strong operator acceptance.
Boeing and Airbus approved Castrol Syntilo 9913 for aluminium alloys:
Boeing BAC 5008, Rev R (2/1/2001))
This is a synthetic coolant, therefore it rejects the tramp oil to its surface, so it becomes easy to remove.
Boron free, furthermore formaldehyde-releasing agent and nitrite free which help you to fulfil aspects of health policy and legislative requirements.
Recommended concentrations:
Grinding: 6 - 8 %
General Machining: 7 - 10 %
Reaming and drilling: 8 - 12 %
Syntilo 9913 is formulated to provide excellent corrosion protection when used at or above 6% concentration.
Water hardness compatibility: 0 - 250 ppm CaCO₃ (0 - 14 °dH)
Mineral oil content: 0 %
Appearance of the solution: transparent
pH at 5%: 7.4
Refractometer factor: 1.4
Note: It is important to attentively check sealings after you replace a previously used mineral oil containing coolant with a fully synthetic type, because sealings that absorbed oil can be damaged by the oil outwash effect of the synthetic fluid.
