CASTROL Techniclean BS 1

Techniclean BS 1 can be primarily used for metal parts cleaning operations, such as removal of oily or greasy soils including certain kind of inks, maintenance of electrical engines (please refer to manufacturer recommendation regarding dielectric breakdown voltage) and single wash stands in maintenance workshops.
Techniclean BS 1 is a chlorine-free, low odour isoparaffin based solvent cleaner, containing highly effective coupling and wetting agents.
It has been specifically developed as an alternative to chlorinated solvents, such as trichlorethane.
It can be used in dip and ultrasonic dip tanks or by wipe method:
Dip and Ultrasonic Dip Tank
Components should be fully immersed in neat product. Contact time depends on soil severity. Recommended temperature range for use: ambient to 40°C
Wipe Method
Product should be applied neat via hand held spray or brush and the surface is then wiped to a clean, dry finish.
Be aware, that Techniclean BS 1 shall only be used in electrical equipment that has been explosion proofed (motors, pumps, switches). It is not suitable for use in vapour degreasing equipments or on most organic surfaces.
Typical characteristics:
Appearance: clear, colourless to light yellow liquid
Flash point, closed cup method: 66 °C
Drying time at 20 °C: 20 - 30 minutes
