Syntilo 9954 is synthetic coolant especially for machining highly-alloyed, hard steels.
It is suitable for heavy-duty, high speed and high feed machining applications, as well as honing and grinding. With its superb lubricity, Syntilo 9954 can be used instead of neat cutting oils for deep drilling, hobbing and broaching.
Syntilo 9954 is free from formaldehyde-releasing biocides, but it contains boron which improves its stability and corrosion preventive ability.
This is a synthetic coolant, therefore it rejects the tramp oil to its surface, so it becomes easy to remove.
Recommended concentrations:
Grinding: 4 - 6 %
Milling, turning, general machining: 4 - 10 %
Reaming: 6 - 10 %
Broaching: 10 - 15 %
Refractometer factor: 1.4
Water hardness compatibility: 10 - 300 ppm CaCO₃ (1 - 17 °dH)
Mineral oil content: 0 %
Appearance of the solution: transparent
pH at 5% dilution: 8.6
Note: It is important to attentively check sealings after you replace a previously used mineral oil containing coolant with a fully synthetic type, because sealings that absorbed oil can be damaged by the oil outwash effect of the synthetic fluid.
